Before and after: how we modernized a two-story pool enclosure

At Screen Factory Florida, we are dedicated to executing projects that not only meet but exceed our clients’ expectations. Recently, we completed a unique project involving a custom screen enclosure with two different types of roofs: an IRP (Insulated Roof Panel) and a traditional screen roof. This project showcased our ability to tackle complex engineering challenges and unique requirements in Saint James City.

Challenges

The project was particularly challenging due to the integration of two different roof types into a single structure. Combining the IRP roof with the screen enclosure required meticulous planning of support structures and ensuring overall structural integrity.

Project timeline

  1. Client consultation and budgeting. The project began with a detailed consultation to discuss the client’s wishes, budget, and timeline. We carefully listened to the client’s requirements to understand their vision for the final outcome.
  2. Free measurement. Following the initial consultation, we conducted a free measurement of the area where the enclosure was to be installed. This step was crucial for accurately calculating material needs and planning the construction phases.
  3. Preparation of Drawings.Based on the discussions and measurements, we prepared detailed drawings illustrating both the IRP and screen roof sections. These drawings served as the foundation for further approvals and construction.
  4. Drawings and Design Approval. Next, we reviewed and finalized the drawings and design with the client. We provided several design options for the client to choose from, ensuring that the final design met their expectations.
  5. Permit Preparation. Once the design was approved, we moved on to preparing the necessary permits. This critical step ensured that our project complied with all local regulations and guidelines.
  6. Construction and Installation. Construction was executed in phases. First, we installed the section with the IRP roof, followed by the screen enclosure. Although the project involved a single overall structure, the phased approach allowed us to focus on each section individually, ensuring precision and quality throughout the process.
  7. Project Handover and Feedback. Finally, after completing the construction and conducting thorough quality checks, we handed over the finished project to the client. We also collected feedback to ensure their satisfaction and make any necessary adjustments.

Design highlights

The house, with its distinctive design, stands out from typical American homes. The integration of the IRP roof with the traditional screen enclosure created a visually striking contrast while maintaining functionality. Additionally, we used No See Um mesh for extra comfort and protection.

Engineering Plan

We pay special attention to creating detailed engineering plans for every project. This step is crucial because it ensures the structural integrity and safety of the enclosure while allowing us to address any potential challenges in advance. Proper planning also streamlines the construction process, resulting in a high-quality final product that meets both client expectations and regulatory standards. Below are examples of engineering plans created by the professionals at SFF.
