Before and After: Two-Story Pool Cage in Largo

We recently completed a beautiful two-story screen enclosure in Largo, Florida. This project showcases how a thoughtful, professional approach and attention to detail can bring even the most specific ideas to life.

Client’s request

The homeowner had been considering several companies but told us that our professionalism stood out from the start. What made this project unique was the client’s clear vision: they wanted to replace their previous sloped-roof enclosure with a modern, flat-roof design — while keeping the two-story layout.

Project challenges

Two-story enclosures come with their own set of challenges — from structural reinforcement to added wind-load considerations. To ensure maximum stability and durability, we used 10 support cables strategically placed throughout the structure. Additionally, K-braces were installed on the flat roof near the side walls to provide extra support and rigidity. These reinforcements are essential for tall structures like this one, especially in Florida’s weather conditions, and they allowed us to maintain a clean, open look without compromising safety or strength.

Project Stages

As with every project, we followed our standard, streamlined process:

  • Free consultation and measurement
  • Custom design and drawings
  • Design approval
  • Permit preparation
  • Installation process
  • inal inspection and project handoff

The installation took just under two weeks — slightly longer than usual, but only because pergola work was also happening on-site at the same time. Despite the extended timeline, everything was completed with great care and attention to detail.

Type of Mesh and Roof

  • Roof Type: Flat
  • Screen Mesh: Super Screen 17/20 — durable, long-lasting, and great for airflow
  • Doors: 3 entry doors for easy access
  • Gutter System: 7″ Super Gutter for proper drainage

This design not only complements the structure of the home but also adds a clean, elevated look to the entire outdoor area.

Result

This project in Largo was a perfect example of how custom requests — like a flat-roof, two-story screen enclosure — can be brought to life with the right team and careful planning. The homeowner’s vision was clear from the beginning, and we were proud to make it a reality with precision and attention to every detail.

And the best part? At the end of the project, the client surprised us with a handwritten thank-you note — a small but heartfelt gesture that meant a lot to our entire team.
